Dirctions: From Portland: take Highway 26 to Highway 35 towards Hood River, turn right on FS road 48, turn left just east of Rock Creek Campground on FS road 4810, then right on FS road 4811, next right on FS road 2710.

Facilities:

8 sites, two 4 horse corrals, toilets, unloading ramp, tables and fireplaces.

 

 

Activites:

Horseback riding, hiking, access to Badger Creek Wilderness

Clackamas Lake Campground

Directions: From Portland or Madras: travel on Highway 26 to FS road 42 (Skyline Road) approximately 9 miles to Clackamas Lake Historic Ranger Station. Travel another 1/2 mile (south) beyond the ranger station, turn left on FS road 4270.

 

 

Elevation:

3,400'

 

 

Facilities:

First 19 sites in campground for horses, fire rings, picnic tables, double-vault toilet, piped water.

 

 

Activites:

Horseback riding, hiking

Directions: From Portland: take Highway 26 to Highway 35 towards Hood River, turn right on FS road 44, turn left on FS road 17.

Directions: From Portland or Madras: travel on Highway 26 to FS road 42 (Skyline Road) approximately 9 miles. (Camp is about 1/4 mile before reaching Clackamas Lake Historic Ranger Station). Camp is on the left, sign is on the right.

14 sites, fire rings with grates, tables, corrals, vault toilets, potable water

 

 

Activites:

Horseback riding, hiking

Knebal Springs

Directions: From Portland: take Highway 26 to Highway 35 toward Hood River, turn right in FS road 44, turn left on FS road 17 then right on FS road 1720. Campground is 2.5 miles on your right.
From Hood River: take Hwy 35 south toward Government Camp, turn left on FS Road 44, turn left on FS Road 17, then right on FS Road 1720. Campground is 2.5 miles on your right.

 

 

Elevation:

4,000'

 

 

Facilities:

Three 4-horse corrals, picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilet, spring water.

 

 

Activites:

Horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking

Lost Lake Horse Camp

Directions: From Portland: Take Hwy. 26 to Hwy 35 towards Hood River, turn right on Dee Hwy. (281), turn left on Lost Lake road at Dee and follow the road 14 miles to Lost Lake. You can also come over Lolo Pass and pick up the Lost Lake road (7 miles to the lake from the junction).

 

 

Elevation:

3,100'

 

 

Facilities:

Vault toilets near by, water at site, 5 sites with tables and fire rings, corrals, paved road.

 

 

Activites:

Trails are somewhat limited, but lots of closed roads nearby to ride on, access to the PCT via Huckleberry Mtn. Trail and an out-and-back on the Old Skyline Trail (this trail will be completed in the next few years and will be a 20 mile loop).

 

 

Reservations:

None, first come-first serve.

 

 

Fees:

$20 per night, $6 extra vehicle fee.

Riley Horse Camp

Directions:From Hwy 26 at Zigzag turn northwest onto FS Road 18 (Lolo Pass Road) and proceed 4.8 miles to turnoff for McNeil and Riley Campgrounds

 

 

Elevation:

2,100'

 

 

Facilities:

14 sites with tables, fire rings, vault toilets, tie stalls, water at creek and potable water. Some sites with two to four horse corrals.

 

 

Activites:

Horseback riding, hiking.

Triangle Lake Equestrian Camp
Clackamas River Ranger District

Directions:State Hwy 224 for 26 miles to FS Road 46, follow for 21.8 miles, turn left on FS Road 4690 for 8.1 miles, turn right on FS Road 4220 follow for two miles. Triangle Lake Equestrian Camp is on your right.

 

 

Elevation:

4,560'

 

 

Facilities:

Eight sites, six people per site. Each site has a 4-horse corral, picnic table and fire ring. There is a single vault toilet and accessible loading ramp, water available for horses. NO potable water at campground.

 

 

Special Considerations:

Please do not allow horses in the meadow or lakes. Use certified weed-free hay and take what you don't use home. Remove manure from stalls to the constructed pit.
