Dry Lake Trailhead

From Florence: drive 5 miles north on Highway 101. Turn right on Herman Peak Road and travel 3 miles. Turn left to the trailhead staging area.

Horse Creek Trailhead

Continue 2.4 miles from Dry Lake Trailhead or from Florence, drive 10.5 miles north on Highway 101 to FS road 58 (also known as the Horse Creek Road). Turn right on FS 58 and travel 4.7 miles. Turn right to access the trailhead and facilities.

Mount Hebo Trailhead

Directions:

From Hebo: drive east of Highway 101 on Highway 22 for approx. half a mile. Turn left on FS Road 14 (paved), drive on FS Road 14 for 5.5 miles to the trailhead located on the right side of the road

Elevation:

2,280'

 

Facilities:

Rocked parking area with a capacity for 12 trucks with trailers. Individula campig is not allowed but groups can be permitted if volunteering for trail work. Dispersed camping is allowed along FS Road 14 on old road spurs. Improvements have not been installed.

 

Activities:

Access to historic Pioneer-Indian trail and two newly reconstructed loop trails. Eventually 29 miles of loop trails will be reconstructed and connected.

Wild Mare Horse Camp

From Reedsport: drive 21 miles south on Highway 101. Turn right onto the Horsfall Beach Access Road, and travel 4 miles. Turn left into the Wild Mare Campground.

From North Bend: drive 2 miles north on Highway 101. Turn left onto the Horsefall Beach Access Road, and travel 4 miles. Turn left into the Wild Mare Campground.

 

Facilities:

12 sites with single/double corrals, picnic tables, fire rings, potable water, vault toilets, trail to beach & dunes
